1. Agreeing to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to our website and to the MyBase app for Windows and Mac that you download from it, including all of its widgets (together, “MyBase”). By downloading, installing or using MyBase, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use MyBase.
2. What MyBase is
MyBase is a personal desktop workspace. After installing it, you can add widgets from the “Add widget” button, arrange and resize them on your screen, and choose a theme in Settings. No account or sign-in is needed.
3. Who can use MyBase
You must be at least 13 years old to use MyBase. If you are under the age of adulthood where you live, please use MyBase with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
4. Your permission to use MyBase
We give you a personal, non-exclusive permission to download, install and use MyBase on computers you own or control. This permission cannot be transferred and lasts as long as you follow these Terms.
You may not sell, rent, share or re-upload the app, change or copy its code, try to take it apart except where the law allows, or remove the MyBase name or logo.
5. Installing and running the app
Once installed, MyBase opens automatically when you log in to your computer. You can switch this off at any time from the MyBase icon in your system tray or menu bar. Closing the window keeps MyBase ready in the tray; choose “Quit MyBase” there to close it completely.
The app is not yet code-signed, so Windows or macOS may show a security message the first time you open it. Only download MyBase from our official website.
The AI Assistant, weather and currency rates need an internet connection. Other widgets work offline. We may release new versions that add, improve or remove features.
6. Free and Pro
MyBase is free to download and use.
MyBase Pro is planned at $3 per month or $30 per year and will unlock extra widgets and customisation. Pro is not available yet, and no payment is collected today. Before Pro launches, we will publish its billing, renewal, cancellation and refund terms, and you will see them before you buy.
7. Fair use
When using MyBase, please don’t:
- Break any law or anyone else’s rights.
- Use the AI Assistant to create illegal, harmful, hateful, harassing or misleading content, or try to get around its safety limits.
- Try to hack, overload or interfere with our website, servers or AI service.
- Use bots or scripts to send large numbers of requests to the AI Assistant.
- Share copies of MyBase that have been changed or that contain harmful software.
8. Your content
You own everything you create in MyBase, including notes, lists, layouts and AI messages. Your workspace is saved on your computer, so you are responsible for keeping copies of anything important. We only process your content when you use a feature that needs it, such as sending a message to the AI Assistant.
9. AI Assistant
AI replies can sometimes be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Always check important information yourself, and don’t treat replies as medical, legal, financial or other professional advice. You are responsible for how you use what the AI Assistant writes. We may set reasonable limits on how much it can be used so it stays fast and available for everyone.
10. Timers, calculators and online information
Timers and reminders only work while MyBase is running and your computer is awake, so don’t rely on them for medicine, safety or other important alerts. Calculators and converters give general estimates, not professional advice. Weather and exchange rates come from outside services and may sometimes be late, unavailable or inaccurate.
11. Our rights
The MyBase name, logo, design, app and website belong to MyBase. Using MyBase does not give you the right to use our name or logo. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve MyBase without owing you anything.
12. Stopping use
You can stop using MyBase at any time by uninstalling it. We may block access to online features, such as the AI Assistant, for anyone who seriously or repeatedly breaks these Terms or puts MyBase or other people at risk.
13. No guarantees
We work hard to make MyBase reliable, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we do not promise that it will always work without interruptions, errors or loss of data.
14. Limits on our responsibility
As far as the law allows, MyBase is not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost data, lost profits or missed opportunities, that come from using the app or website. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
15. If something goes wrong
Please email us first at support.mybase@gmail.com. Most problems can be solved quickly. If we cannot sort it out together within 30 days, either of us may take it to the courts that have authority under the law. Consumer protection laws where you live still apply.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms, for example when Pro launches. We will change the date at the top of this page, and for important changes we will tell you on the website or in the app before they apply. If you keep using MyBase after that, you accept the updated Terms.
