1. Who we are
MyBase (“MyBase”, “we”, “us”) makes a personal desktop workspace. This policy covers our website and the MyBase app for Windows and Mac that you download from it (together, the “Service”). It explains what information is involved when you use the Service and how it is handled. If you have any questions, email us at support.mybase@gmail.com.
2. When you visit our website
You can browse the website and download MyBase without creating an account or giving us any personal details.
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically handles basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, so pages can load, the site stays secure and we can see simple visit counts. We do not use this to identify you personally.
3. When you use the MyBase app
Everything you add to MyBase, including your widgets and their positions, notes, to-do lists, reminders, links, timers and theme colours, is saved only on your own computer. It is not sent to us, and we cannot see it.
Because your workspace lives on your computer, uninstalling MyBase or clearing its data removes it. Nobody else, including us, can recover it for you.
4. The AI Assistant
When you send a message to the AI Assistant, the text you type and the recent conversation are sent securely to our server and passed to an AI service provider to create a reply. We do not keep these conversations on our servers, and we do not use them to learn about you. Your chat history is stored on your computer until you clear it. Please don’t type passwords, card numbers or other sensitive details into the AI Assistant.
5. Widgets that use the internet
Most widgets work entirely on your computer. A few need to fetch information online, and only share what is needed to do that:
- Weather: the city or place you type is sent to Open-Meteo to get the forecast.
- Currency converter: current exchange rates are downloaded. No personal information is sent.
- QR code maker: the text you choose to turn into a QR code is sent to a QR image service.
- Web search: your search opens on the search engine, which has its own privacy policy.
Ambient Sounds are created right on your computer and do not connect to anything online. The website and app also load their fonts from Google Fonts.
6. When you email us
If you write to support.mybase@gmail.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and help you, and we delete it when it is no longer needed.
7. What we never do
- We never sell or rent your information.
- We never show ads in MyBase or share your information with advertisers.
- We never look at the content you keep in your widgets.
- We never use tracking cookies that follow you around the internet.
8. Cookies and saved settings
MyBase saves your workspace and settings in the app’s own storage on your computer so they are there next time you open it. This is needed for MyBase to work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
9. Keeping information safe
Connections to our website and AI service are encrypted, our private keys stay on our servers and are never built into the app, and the app runs with limited permissions on your computer. No system is perfectly secure, so we recommend not storing very sensitive information, such as passwords or bank details, in widgets.
10. Your choices
- Remove any widget, note or chat history from MyBase whenever you like.
- Turn off “Start MyBase when I log in” from the MyBase icon in your system tray or menu bar.
- Uninstall MyBase at any time to remove it and everything saved in it from your computer.
- Email support.mybase@gmail.com to ask what information we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. We will reply within 30 days.
11. Children
MyBase is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how MyBase handles information, for example when Pro or new features launch, we will update this page and the date at the top. For important changes, we will let you know on the website or in the app first.
